During week 7, I do some of the research for developing a new ideas of my found object further because I need to explore more ideas from different designer's work to choose the most suitable concept to my experiment and show more creative works and possible ideas in my found object project. Then, I think this research will give more inspiration that the relationship between magic wand and architecture, there are many possible can becomes a new potential works in my experiment.

This is the image from my research. In here we can the photographer used low angles to form the building to be prominent and make the whole structure looks more monumental and bold. The designed building is called "T3 Minneapolis" which was institute by Michael Green Architecture in 2016 in United State.

Here is a close up image that focused the materials, shape and texture from this building, you can see they used some subtle sepia to be the main tone and circumscribe the whole structure with many bland windows.

ABOUT THE DESIGNER:
Michael Green who is an award -winning known for his experiment emphasis to use wood to be innovative in the built environment and he expressed the concept about environmentally friendly and sustainable in the urban community. He lectures internationally on the subject, including his TED talk, “Why We Should Build Wooden Skyscrapers.” Based in Vancouver, Canada. Also, Michael and his team are ambitiously extending the boundaries of mass timber construction, having completed some of the largest modern timber buildings in the world, including The Wood Innovation Design Centre and T3 Minneapolis.

The result of the research:
The used of design is more natural and wooden, all the concept is around nature and ecosystems to combine with a comfortable living space for people. They breakthrough the record of using largest mass timber in this project. Besides, you can see the building used of some subtle sepia timber columns to circumscribe the whole structure that expressed more natural, it contrasting the environment in the community between the natural life and urban life. Also, he combine nature and modern style to create a characteristics of the local building in the United State. The massive timber building is a bold design in their project that he break the limits of using largest timber to construct a modern tower.

Main concept of the work:
As for the main concept, the design was focused to use timber to bring the warmth and elegant space for people who working in this community. He promote a healthy environment to emphasis the connection between city and nature. The meaning behind this building wanted to give people a occupation to relaxed their body mentally and released their pressures.
Association with my found object:
T3 Minneapolis was used a largest mass timber to create a friendly space, the whole design is more indicated to combine modernism and nature. Then, my found object was resemble to the idea of Michael Green's work, since there are some wooden texture and wood grain pattern on the magic wand to express the natural environment. For instance, T3 Minneapolis was used Nail Laminated Timber panels which was made of lumber from trees killed by the mountain pine beetle to institute the certain building. The used of materials was very natural and environmental.
Interesting thing about the research:
The most interesting that I've found is Michael Green reached a record of using timber to create a 224,000 square feet and retail place. Approximately 3,600 cubic metres of wood are used in the structure, which will sequester about 3,200 tonnes of carbon for the life of the building. The speed exceeding conventional steel-framed or concrete buildings accomplished in just 2.5 months at an average of 9 days per floor.

My inspiration:
I chose this image to my initial design idea, and I reconstruct the patterns of the timber column to my magic wand, I used curve to combine with the massive timber and recreate the building becomes streamline and expressed three-dimensional that looks like a wooden wave from his work.
