Week 6-Found object

During week 6, I have a new task is going to find some object is meaning and favourite for me in my home. When I was a child, I love watching Harry Potter very much for each Saturday. In the movie, Harry Potter always bring his magic wand to adventure in the magic world, while he meets enemies, he use the mysteries power in the magic wand to defeat them and save his friends.

This is the magic wand that is the same one when Harry Potter resist the enemies in the movie. I remember when I travel to Japan in few years ago and I go to the local amusement park is called "Universal Studio" in Osaka . there are including a lots of famous movie and Japanese comics to be a district of rides such as Resident Evil, Minions, One piece etc. There are a district for Harry Potter and I saw the magic wand in the souvenir shop exactly that Harry Potter used so I bought the magic wand and used it to my found object.

It made by plastic and it was formed the texture looks like a wood grain, this magic wand is meaning for me when I facing some challenges and feel frustrated, it makes me remember that Harry Potter used this magic wand to resist the enemies by his own, and let me cheer up and get confidence again to solve the problems. it is also the gathering moment of me and my family.

Here is a mind map are related to my found object, I categorized four types of ways to develop my ideas to create a new image with magic wand. The interesting idea which I found is related to my pathway since there is a idea of designing a wooden architecture with the separate parts of found object. Also, I think the using of the stick part to layout a building likes a nervous systems in our brain with making some graphic shape.

This slide is about I am using the four different types of angles to take the image with magic wand. I think the most attractive image is the low angles one because it showed the wooden texture on the magic wand and the reflective lighting created a natural image smoothly.

As for the research, I found some image that related to my found object and try to extract some elements to combine with my found object from these five research. These images are all about my ideas from my found object mind map and adopt some part of the concept to do a research.

It is the first image I've found to create a new works with my magic wand. This image is more natural and modern, it used curve to combine with the plants softly since the building echo the tones of the natural environment and emphasis the design of the whole structure is expressed the using lines more feminine.

I used pencil to form out the shape from found object and try to found some separate parts to develop more new image related to my pathway.

And I drew the different parts of my magic wand, it can show me more details and I can figure out what part should be more potential to becomes my inspiration.

So, I divided the parts of the magic wand and I chose the body of the magic wand to recreate with the original image that I found it on the internet to combine these sticks and replace the concrete wall to be more looks like shutter. There are some curve to decorate the building make it looks smooth and streamline to fit in the natural environment.
