Final project: Week 1- Independent research

In the beginning of cycle 3, I will prepare to investigate my final project, so I have selected "eco-friendly architecture to be my topic of final project from my project proposal in cycle 2. It is because there are many possible ideas from nature elements and I very interested to engaged about nature and architecture.

Before I started to investigate my final project, I create a mind map for generate the ideas form my research in padlet.

In my mind map, I've chosen different way for my ideas to structure my whole mind map. It including primary and secondary research, concept and sustainability.

K11 museum is a important project to affect Hong Kong to create a green community, the project called 'green wall' by Kohn Pedersen Fox. The reason why I've chosen this image since the used of design was natural, it combined green wall with modern element such as geometric shapes and glasses. The green wall symbolize a natural environment that assimilated into modern design and brought green elements into the community.

Besides, the decoration of K11 Musea was created by several of organic shape and curve to saturated the overall vision in this design. The cross-crossing curves generate a smooth surface to expressed this subtle movement in this mess design. Organic shapes was instituted a open space and curves was decorated the space of the organic form to create a gradation.

The interior space in K11 musea used curves to design a smooth and wavy facade to contrast the 'green wall' and show the different facade of these separate spaces.

The second idea is from Felipe Lüer's work is called zero carbon house. About the design, This house reached self-sufficient to provided the energy for giving people to use that it related to my final project topic. Zero carbon was generated the ideas of eco-friendly and sustainability, the whole structure used timber to demonstrate a natural design and created a subtle texture to design a harmonious space and emphasize the concept about zero carbon.

In this design, the whole building surround with a couple plants to created a green wall. this design is to improve the air of quality in London. The green wall was attracted me that decorated with different types of plants to institute a living wall to saturated the design and affect the efficient of green wall to balance between aesthetic and function.
